Life can feel like a rollercoaster ride: up and down. One minute we can be on top of the world, and the next we can be in the valleys of despair. This is especially true when we struggle with our mental health.
Every one of us battles with our mental health. Some of us more than others, to be sure, but we all battle. Struggling with mental health doesn't mean you are abnormal. It doesn't mean that you are a sub-standard Christian. It should not be a source of shame or be kept hidden. The Church should be a place of safety and community, where those who are struggling can be honest, ask people to rally around them in prayer, and be assisted in seeking help.
In this Saturday morning seminar for ladies, Helen Thorne (Director of Training and Resources for Biblical Counselling UK), will seek to bring the truth and wisdom of Scripture to bear on this topic; giving insight on how we should view and respond to those who are battling with their own minds. She will unpack how the gospel gives us hope by being honest about who we are: sinners with fallen hearts, and sufferers in a fallen world; and how Christ has come to renew our hearts and redeem our suffering.
